Motets vol. 2
For anyone interested in early 17th-century music, the catalogue of works by Guillaume Bouzignac is one of the most controversial. In an attempt to remedy the proliferation of attributions, Jean Duron has examined the subject and suggested an approach that combines reasoning and caution. This reflection led to the publication of a catalogue (Jean Duron, L’Oeuvre de Guillaume Bouzignac, Cahiers Philidor collection, Versailles, Centre de musique baroque de Versailles 2003) and to the publication of the composer’s complete works, of which this book of motets is the second volume.
