Airs d'opéra pour haute-contre, vol. 1
This volume includes half of the greatest monologues, arias and ariettes that Rameau wrote for the haute-contre voice, the 18th-century equivalent of today’s light tenor. The edition, preceded by a historical introduction in French and English, is based on the scientific edition of Rameau’s works, Opera Omnia Rameau. Each piece, with a keyboard reduction, is preceded by its dramatic setting and a translation of the libretto into English.
