Presintation:
The reasons that led Brossard to include these works in his bequest to the Bibliothèque royale are not known. He explains very clearly his desire not to appear too much like a composer within this collection. It seems that he was proud enough of them to consider them worthy of being included. He even allows himself an advantageous judgment of his Beati immaculati, to his taste the best he had composed, although he is usually not very forthcoming about his own works.
