Présentation :
Mondonville’s Symphony Sonatas are an orchestral arrangement, developed by the composer for the Concert spirituel, of his own Sonatas for violin and harpsichord op. 3. These brilliant orchestral pieces played a significant role in the development of a symphonic trend within the concerts, and in the gestation of the modern symphony.
The Sonate en symphonie no. 1, lasting about 10 minutes, is composed for orchestra (violins 1, violins 2, cellos and basses).
This new edition by the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles includes a bilingual introduction, with notes for interpretation and unpublished historical elements, the score and critical notes.
